This is detail of a joint. Note the vinyl tap that acts which is compressed by the clamps

The same joint with the clamps in place. They prevent translation of the inner tube into the outer, and they prevent splitting of the outer tube edge due to fatugue.

This is the joint that joins the aluminum to the fiberglass. The hose clamps from the bottom are around the 1.875 tube. then 2 clamps which are around the 2" 3ft long tube which fits inside the fiberglass pole. The 2" is wrapped with enough aluminum tape to give a snug fit to the fiberglass and allows the next hose clamp to tighten down without significant pole distortion.

Here is a picture of the wrapping I did to keep the element wires on each segment of the pole. I did not take all the slack out of the wires so there would be some play as the pole bends
